New Year - Back to Bunny Basics

Howdy Doody, Lagomorphaholics!

2012 is nigh over, THANK JESUS! I always look forward to a new year. Mostly, I look forward to putting away Christmas decorations! Well, again, the year is over and if you can believe, Great Lent is coming up upon us again. Us Eastern Orthodox Christians will be celebrating the Lenten Triodion before we can blink a half dozen times.

I started this blog with intentions that didn't quite get lived up to. Somewhere along the way, this blog got to be a million things I never wanted it to be. So my New Year's Resolution is to get it back to basics. Bunny basics, that is. I will still be participating in Friday Flash Fiction 55's because it is addicting and fun. But my main focus will be all things Lagomorpha.

There is ONE reader out there that saw my shame. Last FFF55, before I could delete the words, I went on a very unchristian, shameful rant about Dianne Feinstein.  Thank the Sweet Lord Jesus only one person read those words before I realized what a horrible mistake it was to write them. Whoever that one person is, I want to apologize to you, and beg your forgiveness. I am sorry that you had to see my temperamental  base side. I had NO RIGHT to express my anger in such a crude way.  Just because I COULD DO IT, does not mean I SHOULD DO IT. Those were words I would have taken with me to Judgement Day. I still might.

I want to start 2013 right. I ask all that I might have offended to forgive me, and please, if you have an issue with me, feel free to send me an email. I would love to work things out with you, for the sake of peace, my eternal soul, and most importantly, for our friendship. You can even post your issues on the comment section of this post. I will do my best to work it out with you, and not delete the comments. You are entitled to hold me accountable for my words and actions.

Everyone, please have a warm, safe, happy New Year. Kiss your bunnies at Midnight, don't get too drunk, and above all, be aware of your surroundings if you are going out!

Binkies, nose bonks, and popcorns to every bunny/body!!

  1. Brandi, I like your blog the way it is. I think caring about rabbits includes cheering up those who are their servitors and you certainly do. I don't know what you said and it wouldn't matter. If we disagree, we disagree. This is not the Islamic Republic of Iran. I will with all my wherewithal defend your right to say whatever you say. We all say things we wish we hadn't, but friends and fellow citizens cut each other a little slack. We would so miss your passion, your caring, and your commitment. Where would we be if no one cared or everyone was afraid?

  2. It was a rant unworthy of someone (me) claiming to a Christian. It was very offensive, and mostly to God, who is the Creator of the very people I was ranting and raving about. If someone posted a rant like that about one of my children, I would hurt and offended, very deeply. God is no different. He can be hurt and deeply offended, especially by someone (me) who knows better. Him and I have gone through this before. Besides, it was a subject unworthy of the peace and serenity of Rabbit-kind. I would not only have to bring this issue to confession, but I would have been obligated and commanded by Father Ralph to remove the content before he would allow me to partake in the Eucharist. Christ, as Flesh and Blood in the Mystery and Sacrament of the Eucharist, would not be allowed to dwell in the same physical body (me) with my bile and foulness of heart. I would definitely have taken not only those words with me to Judgement Day, but any hurt and offense I caused my fellow creatures would make that journey as well. I cannot allow that.
I agree, I should and can and do cut a lot of slack for other people and their weaknesses. I am happy to do so. But I cannot assume that others should, could or will do the same for me. Christ said, "if you love me, you will obey me". Loving Him is not always easy and is almost never convenient. LOLZ.

  3. Brandi there is such a thing as freedom of express and I do believe that we are all entitiled to do just that.If we have an issue with something we should get it out into the open as a problem or issue shared is a problem or issue halved.we all say things that sometime's we shouldn't but if you are passionate about what you have said and believe in what you have said its ok you can always say sorry for causing offense later but never bottle these things up as when you do that leeds down to the path of destruction so cut your self some slack and learn to forgive your self and live with the person you are we all love you for who you are your passion and rants included, those that love you will always forgive you because we are not perfect and if others can't forgive you well they don't really love or care about you and are not important plus god will all was forgive you as you are not an evil person you are a caring person and that is what god see's.Oh and another thing leave the blog alone its fine as its is silly,xx Speedy and Rachel

  5. Hi, Brandil, the first day of the New Year, yes this New Year ( I have faced my conventionality face on but am most grateful for your suggestions ) has always been considered a sort of grace period, but it is now the second day of the year and I am having tea and seriously thinking of crawling back into bed. This means That I am not cleaning my house...and....and a lot of other stuff. Any ideas?
